My real estate career began in London in the late 1980s in commercial investment with Knight Frank, one of the United Kingdom's premier real estate firms with an extensive international presence. I later moved into residential property management for a private investor with properties in London's prestigious Mayfair district before relocating to Portugal's Algarve, where I sold luxury homes in the renowned Quinta do Lago golf resort.

Returning to London, I managed sales and marketing for a short-stay apartment company with properties throughout Kensington and Chelsea while also representing privately owned homes. That experience eventually led me to establish my own short-stay marketing agency—think Airbnb before the internet.

In 1994, I made Silicon Valley my home after marrying my engineer husband. Over the years, I helped secure funding for several of his technology startups while also providing marketing services to local businesses and volunteering with nonprofit organizations to support their fundraising efforts.

A Life-Changing Perspective

In 2002, my life changed dramatically when I suffered a massive stroke that left me in a wheelchair with paralysis on my left side. Through years of determination and rehabilitation, I relearned how to walk, run, and regain my independence.

Throughout my recovery, I stayed connected to the real estate industry by helping agents with their marketing and writing blog content for real estate professionals across the country. As my mobility improved, I realized I wanted to return to what I had always loved most—working directly with people and helping them through one of life's biggest decisions.

My experience also gave me a perspective that few agents have. I recognize accessibility challenges that many people simply don't notice. A couple of steps at a front entrance, a narrow hallway, or an awkward floor plan may seem insignificant to most, but for someone with mobility challenges—or anyone planning to age comfortably in their home—they can make all the difference.

Why I Chose Sereno

When I decided to return to real estate sales, I carefully researched the leading brokerages in Silicon Valley before choosing Christie's International Real Estate Sereno. The company's commitment to professionalism, collaboration, continuing education, and community service perfectly aligned with my own values.

Sereno's 1% for Good Foundation was another reason for my decision. Every agent contributes a portion of their income to support local charitable organizations, reflecting a culture of giving back that has always been important to me.

Giving Back

Community service has been a constant throughout my life. I served for several years on the Board of Directors of the Pacific Association and advised NorCalSCI, a nonprofit supporting people with spinal cord injuries, during its early fundraising efforts.

Today, I also lead the Western United States region for the Sovereign Order of St. John, a charitable organization with more than 1,000 years of history. Together with our regional chapters, we raise funds for capital projects that benefit charities and the communities they serve.

Looking Ahead

Today, I combine decades of international real estate experience with marketing expertise, strong negotiation skills, and a unique understanding of how a home can truly support the people who live in it.

Whether you're buying your first home, selling a property you've loved for years, relocating to Silicon Valley, or planning your next chapter, I'm committed to providing knowledgeable guidance, honest advice, and exceptional service every step of the way.
