It is utterly majestic with a raised hearth & a substantial hand carved mantel displaying the Greek classic anthemion & palmette design motif. A number of graceful arches, built-in bookshelves, a niche lined with festive Spanish Majolica tiles & a recessed window all add further dimension & character. The kitchen boasts another pair of hand hewn beams & as you tilt your head back you find an extra high wood beam ceiling. A massive plastered vent hovers over a retro stove accompanied by an arched recess & decorative switchplates. Custom wood cabinetry, taupe tile countertops & a pantry with plenty of shelving are also featured. A vintage iron chandelier rests over an adorable built-in breakfast nook with views of the back courtyard & the soothing sculptural fig tree, climbing roses, & dignified olive tree among the verdant elephant ears. As you enter the Primary bedroom, you mark the ornate sconces & again, beamed ceilings but they are embellished by the addition of some unique saw woodwork. Here you can see the original oakwood flooring & where it shifts into Saltillo tiles for a darling alcove decorated with lion corbels, built-in shelving & a window looking out to the front courtyard. The main bathroom is spacious & features a walk-in shower with frameless glass doors & a large vanity. The guest room has an extensive built-in bookshelf, wood beam ceilings, elongated hexagon Saltillo tile & hand-painted Spanish tile surrounding the fireplace.
