Sereno Group Hosts Community E-Recycle Day

LOS GATOS, CA—July 2, 2007. On Saturday, June 30, 2007, Sereno Group Real Estate partnered with ASL Semi of San Jose, CA to host a successful e-recycle day with over 200 participants from the community of Los Gatos and surrounding areas dropping off items for safe and environment friendly recycling.

With the help of ASL Semi, Sereno Group created a drop off zone at the Sereno Group’s Los Gatos office parking lot, where donors delivered various items, including televisions, computers and computer monitors, vcr’s and laptops, totaling over 7 tons of recyclables.

These and other items are no longer considered safe for landfill disposal. As outlined in The California Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003, all California consumers and businesses must dispose of products containing Cathode Ray Tubes (CRT’s) in an environmentally sound manner.

With this in mind, Margie Archer, an agent with Sereno Group Los Gatos, organized the e-recycle day to provide the local community with a viable avenue for disposing of old and out of use CRT classified items.

“The initiative taken by Margie to organize and execute the e-recycle day was excellent,” said Chris Trapani, President and CEO of Sereno Group, “Margie’s vision came from her desire to create a positive difference in the community and the environment. And the event was a tremendous success for everyone involved.”

“It was amazing watching the community respond,” Archer said, “We moved over 7 tons of recyclables in a responsible way. It feels great to give back in such a significant way.”
