Sereno Group Saratoga Names The Saratoga Senior Center As Their 1% For Good 1st & 2nd Quarter Recipient

SARATOGA—4 February 2013. Sereno Group’s Saratoga office announced the Saratoga Senior Center as their 1st & 2nd quarter recipient for their 1% for Good philanthropy campaign. For the months of January through June, the Sereno Group Saratoga team will be pledging 1% of their gross commissions to the Saratoga Senior Center to assist in the remodeling of the facility’s “Fireside Room,” the communal room used by many of the visiting seniors.

Located adjacent to the Saratoga Community Center, the Saratoga Senior Center was founded in 1981 by a group of older adults living in the Saratoga Community with the mission to serve the many different needs of the growing elderly population within the community. From that idea, the SASCC now offers a multitude of senior focused support, including health, legal, and financial services, as well as providing a comfortable and friendly social hub for its members.

“We want to bring awareness of our small but mighty Senior Center,” said Bev Harada, Realtor at Sereno Group Saratoga, “In our diverse community, each culture truly cherishes its elderly. Our Senior Center should be a wonderful place for our seniors to go.”

In 2012, Sereno Group announced the launch of their 1% for Good charitable philanthropy program. With 1% for Good, Sereno Group has pledged to give 1% of their gross commissions to a charitable or community minded organization committed to making a positive difference in the community.

The program is organized and directed by committees within each respective Sereno Group office. This structure allows each office the opportunity to choose local organizations, with their philanthropic contribution directly impacting the local communities. Organizations will be selected on a quarterly or semi-annual basis by each office, with the aggregate sum of donation dollars being delivered to the chosen beneficiary organizations at the end of each period.
