Sereno Group Los Gatos Names Cancer Care Point As Their 1% For Good Recipient

LOS GATOS—November 30, 2012. Sereno Group’s Los Gatos office announced Cancer CAREpoint as the recipient for their 1% for Good philanthropy campaign. During the months of September, October, November, and December, the Sereno Group Los Gatos team will be pledging 1% of their gross commissions to Cancer CAREpoint in support of their programs.

Cancer CAREpoint’s mission is to provide programs and services to individuals and families whose lives are affected by cancer. The organization offers one-on-one counseling, assistance in understanding cancer treatment options, help understanding community resources available to cancer patients and their families, and provides education to help clarify the unknowns of cancer treatment. “Cancer has affected us all in one way or another,” said Carol Jeans, Realtor at Sereno Group Los Gatos, “we wanted to choose a charitable organization that would be impactful with a universal cause.

Cancer CAREpoint was the perfect fit as a grassroots community organization encompassing well thought out goals and objectives that would meet the needs of an underserved segment of our community.”

Earlier this year, Sereno Group announced the launch of their new 1% for Good charitable philanthropy program. With 1% for Good, Sereno Group has pledged to give 1% of their gross commissions to a charitable or community minded organization committed to making a positive difference in the community.

The program will be organized and directed by committees within each respective Sereno Group office. This structure allows each office the opportunity to choose local organizations and will allow their philanthropic contribution to have a direct impact on the local communities. Organizations will be selected on a quarterly basis by each office, with the aggregate sum of donation dollars being delivered to the chosen beneficiary organizations at the end of each period.
