Sereno Group Los Altos Announces Paralyzed Veterans Of America As Their 1% For Good Recipient

LOS ALTOS—October 20, 2012. Sereno Group’s Los Altos office announced the Bay Area Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America as the recipient for their 1% for Good philanthropy campaign. During the months of September, October, November, and December, the Sereno Group Los Altos team will be pledging 1% of their gross commissions to the Bay Area Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America in support of their programs.

The Bay Area Chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America is dedicated to the task of improving the quality of life of Veterans with paralysis due to spinal cord dysfunction and to the protection of their civil rights. They are committed to the duty of assisting paralyzed Veterans by advocating for unfettered access to the VA health care and barrier-free access to the community.

“Everyone knows someone who has served in military in some capacity or another,” said Diane Schmitz, Realtor at Sereno Group Los Altos, “And now there are not enough resources available to help with the transition our veterans need. If we can make a difference in just one veteran’s life through our support of Paralyzed Veterans of America, then our mission will be accomplished.”

Earlier this year, Sereno Group announced the launch of their new 1% for Good charitable philanthropy program. With 1% for Good, Sereno Group has pledged to give 1% of their gross commissions to a charitable or community minded organization committed to making a positive difference in the community.

The program will be organized and directed by committees within each respective Sereno Group office. This structure allows each office the opportunity to choose local organizations and will allow their philanthropic contribution to have a direct impact on the local communities. Organizations will be selected on a quarterly basis by each office, with the aggregate sum of donation dollars being delivered to the chosen beneficiary organizations at the end of each period.
